Do You Have a Vision for Your Future?

Do you have a vision for your future? Most people have a perception of something better in their life whether it be for your family, business, or ministry. It is natural to want to do better or be more productive.

What is your vision? Plan the steps to get there and make it happen!

Vision: the act or power of imagination, mode of seeing or conceiving.

(according to merriam-webster.com)

Know your vision

The first step is knowing your vision. What do you want in life? Your vision can be anything you can imagine! The next step is to make some goals to help you get to that place. Then, break those goals down into obtainable steps. Do something today, even if it is just writing these steps down.

You have talents, gifts, and relationships that God has given you to complete what He has in store for you. It is important that your standards align with God's word. The Lord supports those whose hearts are His and will bless the work of their hands. Your vision may not be a ministry, but it can still line up with the Word. Be obedient in what God asks you to do. He does not bless disobedience.

Work for it

Create a plan to achieve those goals. What do you need to do, learn, become to make it happen? Whether your mission is for your family, ministry, or business, they require constant attention. Stay focused.

There is divine potential in all that God has put in your heart to do. The end of a God-ordained vision is God. His glory is the ultimate agenda. Allow your heavenly father to exploit the visions you are pursuing for his glory. ~ Visioneering: Your Guide for Discovering and Maintaining Personal Vision by Andy Stanley

Share it with the right people

Be aware, not everyone will share your vision or be as excited about it as you. The ones you think will support you might not. Or they just might not "get it". Find someone who WILL support you. It could be your spouse, a best friend, or a support group of some kind.

Celebrate even the small successes

Celebrate every small step and success. Make a checklist of the steps you want to accomplish and celebrate every time you can mark something off. Your vision will evolve over time and may look totally different a year from now, and that's okay. Keep moving forward even if it is not perfect. I am learning that "imperfect action" is better than no action at all.  If you try to perfect everything before you complete it, you will move slower and get frustrated. Clarity will come as you take action.

The Bible tells us without vision people perish.

Without some goals in life we are just going through the motions day after day.

Know your vision, set goals to get there, and celebrate every small accomplishment!
