The obsession of Judging People on Facebook

Recently an article popped up on my news feed. It was a news article shared by a “friend”. I knew the person whom the article was about so I clicked on it to read more. I wondered if what I was reading was true and I really wondered if the person who shared it even knew the people it was about or if they just shared it to be sharing.

True or not it was about the past. This person had been through a lot in the past couple of years and although I was acquainted with them I did not know enough of the facts to know if it was the complete truth. But here this person’s past was being put out there for ALL to see. And being shared over and over again…

The Do's and Dont's of sharing on Facebook
I had several thoughts and emotions over this. Is that crazy? It was just a Facebook post…I could have easily scrolled right on past it. But I didn’t. I prayed for this young lady and her family. I prayed that truth be revealed. I prayed that forgiveness be shown to her in a supernatural way. Here she is trying to move forward in what the Lord was leading her to do and the enemy had to throw up an obstacle.

We have to be careful not to believe everything we read on the internet. Believe it or not it is NOT all true! LOL And seriously, if you don’t know if it is true…please don’t share it. That only hurts everyone involved.
Don’t…
  • Believe everything you read on the internet
  • Share before you know if it is true
  • Put other people’s past on social media
  • Put your own trash on Facebook or other social media
Do….
  • Pray for situations and concerns that you see
  • Encourage those that are having a rough time
  • Think about what you are posting/sharing
  • Put positive encouraging posts on social media

Do you remember the Golden Rule?

Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Luke 6:31 NIV

Do to others as you would have them do to you and how this applies to Facebook posts

Has something hurtful about you been put on Social Media? How did you handle it? What would you tell someone who is dealing with this right now?
